1.3. User Roles and Access
Common roles:
- Superadmin: full branch operation
- Admin (Staff): limited modules based on permission
- Teacher: class and academic related actions
- Parent: monitor child progress and payments
- Student: view classes, homework, and updates
Important:
- This setup is not only about role. It is also about permission.
- Role defines the user type.
- Permission defines which menu, module, and action the user can actually access.
Recommended approach:
- Assign the correct role first.
- Open the user's permission settings.
- Enable only the modules and actions needed for that user's daily work.
- Save the changes and test using that account.
Best practice for permissions:
- Do not give all permissions by default.
- Grant access based on job scope.
- For staff accounts, check both menu visibility and action permission.
- If a menu is missing or a page cannot be opened, review the permission setup first.
Important after changing permissions:
- Sometimes the old access is still shown because the login session is using cached account data.
- If permission changes do not apply immediately, log out of the account and log in again.
- Re-login usually refreshes the account access and resolves the issue.
